“It’s been an interesting few weeks here in Melbourne with covid19 lock-down, curfews and strict limitations on leaving the house, but that has meant more desk time for me and in turn, more time to get to know the new Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 for Mac, a new keyboard and mouse“ …..[more]

Killers Best Album

I am biased…

July 20, 2009 and I’m on top of an OB truck in Spain, I wasn’t able to photograph Killers at the festival - they were the only band with that restriction - but they put on a hell of a show, some captured here on a compact I had with me (ain’t brilliant, just a moment)

That was the Hot Fuss Era… The photo below is of my laptop in the press tent at the same festival, their PR person got the band to sign my CD like the groupie that I am…

I dunno man, Sam’s Town is killer…

What’s your favourite?

Don’t vote, in fact, keep it to yourself, ok.

Do you use SD cards? ProGrade Digital Long Term Review SD Card Advice

SD cards either work or they don’t, they’re either fast or they’re slow.

I’ve been using the ProGrade SD cards since they arrived on the market, and here’s a quick look at how they work for me.

This is what BlackMagicDesign Disk Speed Test says…

My 128gb V90 U3 XC II ProGrade SD card

Pro Grade Digital Speed Test SD XC

My 64gb V60 U3 XC II ProGrade SD Card

So they pretty much do what they say on the tin, sp to speak… The V90 card, rated at 250 MB/s comes in at about 246.6MB/s and the V60 card, rated at 200MB/s comes in at about 192.3 - This is while connected to a 5K iMac via USB-C (TB3) to the ProGrade Digital card reader.

Real world? THey’re plenty fast enough to shoot kids sports (soccer) on continuous high frame rate, uncompressed raw in my Sony a7Rmk3 and a7Mk3 cameras, or to shoot 4K video.

Useful gear that is actually darn helpful - USB Charger

Isn’t everything USB these days? I have a load of USB charging devices, from my torch to my lights to my 360 device, dashcam, watch - the list goes on.

Not an affiliate link, just a good product

As opposed to a list with 25 things in it, each to a different affiliate link, I’m going to give you one really helpful thing that might be worth purchasing.

AS YOU CAN SEE, MINE’S WELL USED!

Size Matters!

Especially when it comes to sharing content on social media. Having the wrong sized images can result in quality loss, and less than ideal design and layout.

I’ve used a few tools in my years as a social media manager, and I’ve just been asked to check out this one, new to me, Instasize.

And you know what, I’m going to do that…

This young lady appears to enjoy Instasize.

I’m just about to download the app, so while I’m here telling you I’m going to, I don’t have an opinion on it yet.
