Project #Tag | instagram

One thing that drives me a little mad with iNstagram is the people posting trashy photographs* that don't give much of an experience other than a massive list of hashtags / tags - these tags help the photos they're posted with to appear in searches... What tags are for? Tags are like a little organiser, for example, I will tag each post with gtvonestagram, and then you can click on that tag and see all of the images that I post along with this little test... For example, using INK361 (web instagram portal) here's a search for #gtvone

You can also use tags as a way to organise your photos into albums - so you could tag all of your images with feet in them #feet and then all the images with goats in them as #goats and then, in a search, you only get those goats images you really wanna see all the time...

But more people use tags just to get perceived more views... but do they really get you that many more views??

Let's take this photograph by Davide, 1908 followers...

This guy has some interesting images, and to his credit he's not used the myriad of tags on every photo... But really, #awesome #bestoftheday #best .....Yeah, I dunno... ya know...

Though, it looks like he has more views...Right?

So anyway, don't knock it until you try it.. so this week, starting tomorrow, I'll be adding a smash of erroneous tags to my Instagrams and we'll be taking a look at what, if any, effect it has on my instagram account....

If tags work for you, that's lovely...
