Music, friends and spirit. That was the feeling I had at the amazing "Live at the Bedford" gig at London's best kept secret (sadly) the indigo2 at o2. The venue in its hazy shade of red welcomed you in, this venue has something about it, whilst still being a little sterile and a bit of a "new kid on the block" it has some of the best sounding acoustics I've heard in a long time - I made my best mate, Nathan, stand and listen with me before the place filled up. Lucky enough to have no restrictions on photography, we had free run to wander onto back stage and snap shots you won't normally get to see, more on that later. We met the exceptionally energetic Kat (spelling!) who was lovely, excited and very cool. I got to pat Rita's tummy and give her a huge hug! It was lovely to be back amongst friends I've not seen in a long while - since November.
The reason for last night's show was to help raise funds to take the Bedford crew to the US, to the SXSW event in Austin Texas... You can help them realise that dream by heading over to PLEDGE MUSIC and pledging towards "something"
The night featured music from a whole bucket full of amazingly talented artists, with my artist of the evening award going to the spine tingling "Foy Vance" he's a lovely bloke and when he sings, the crowd stand, stunned, amazed and enthralled... Hell, I did! - Check him out.
That's not to say that I didn't like any of the other acts - I loved every minute of last night, including the last track when the uber talented Tony Moore (My birthday was Friday, thanks T) sang one of my fave 80's ballads - "I just died in your arms tonight" - one day I'll do BV's! ONE DAY! ...anyway, last night I was on stage for that song - standing behind the drummer, to be precise...
Many inspiring photos (Content, not the photos damn it all) to come - Sifting through the 695 moments that I captured, forever, right now. See you all soon! - Sime
