NME? Crack smokers?

I have to post a note about this... I thought I was reading the STar or the Weekly world news when I dropped in on the NME website today... I realise that there was some carnage at Benicassim this year but nobody died, Lily Allen said she was "Ill" Kings of Leon showed up at the worst time possible... It was dark, there was 35,000 drunk people that were not aware that they could be in for a rough night, but I just want to list a few of the lines on the NME website - The headline of the piece being ...

"Chaos reigns at Benicassim 2009"

"The rain and wind-lashed main stage at Benicassim. The Spanish festival was beset by disasters all weekend, including a fire on Friday (July 17). Kings Of Leon and The Horrors were forced to cancel, and the second stage resembled "the location of a recent murder", in the words of Jamie Fullerton"

Rain? Where? - It didn't rain once?... Fire? YOU MEAN THE ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A ROAD THAT WAS NOT EVEN IF IT WERE DRIVEN AROUND GOING TO MAKE IT ANYWHERE NEAR THE STAGE / FESTIVAL?

NME! Please? Get some decent reporting skills here and stop talking crap...

Tents looked like this...

So a tent blew over?

Let's move onto their next show stopper... "Some people still managed to have fun at Benicassim - although many were not so lucky. After the fire broke out, a large number of campers were woken up by security guards and bussed to a leisure centre to bed down after the campsites were evacuated" This had NOTHING to do with a fire... not one thing... again, you're talking crap folks

Here's a shot of the fire, over a dirt road, a fence, a 20' wooden wall, an OB truck and a two lane road... oh, and a Force3 wind blowing it AWAY from the camp site which was a whole 1000mtrs on the other side of the Main stage / second stage all which is built on ASPHALT... doesn't burn that good NME... (I grew up in the country, trust me, I tried to set the road on fire more than once!)

You couldn't cook a snag on this!

I can't post everything NME has written, no doubt they'll slap me for this anyway - hell, I'm speaking the truth!... Here's the last thing I'll post, it's a Paul Weller quote "Weller said afterwards: "I was fucking scared. I came on stage to big black clouds and could see the huge inferno to the left" ...I made the "HUGE INFERNO" look like an inferno, too... You know what the huge inferno was? A dry field of old olive trees and grass - That's why the black smoke (Olive oil?) and the flames leaping one at a time up dry old Olive trees... Here's my version of the huge inferno *dramatised for your viewing pleasure with added fireman for effect*

TOWERING INFERNO!

Chaos didn't reign. People had a great time. There was a decent gusty Friday that blew some tents down. I used to respect NME - That was just blown away and burnt on a huge godzilla sized inferno! (Didn't Paul Weller say that?) ...Hey, I was there most of the night, I was in the production tent with the riggers...
