Shalamar - A shadow of their former selves?

I (body) popped along to photograph Shalamar, a Disco group that kicked things off in the 70's, when I was born, and have been body popping their way around the world ever since - basically. I really didn't enjoy the support - Tuning, Timing, and most other things that go along with general musicianship were missing from the pair that were swirling around the stage. The unenthusiastic crowd only waiting for them to leave and for Shalamar to get on with getting on with it... I created a couple of photos of the support - they're below.

Shalamar, Well, I didn't know their stuff "back then" and I didn't recognise it on the night, either. I didn't enjoy the style of music or the delivery. Maybe I wasn't in the mood? Maybe I really don't like rebuzzed 70's disco music - yeah, that's it... Anyway, A handful of images form that performance, I wish them well... more after the jump...

To coin the phrase of someone who got bored and had nothing more to say "That's all we've got time for folks..."

But seriously, I have around 100 Shalamar images, they're all available for purchase - get in touch

Jeff Beck and the Imelda May band

Jeff Beck took to the stage at London's Indigo2, An intimate little venue (2100 people) in the o2 center. The Imelda May band played a tune or two and were then joined, or rather, Imelda was swapped out for Jeff and the fun began (again) His signature sound filling the room, the crowd loving every bit of it. Jeff muttered "Ooops, I pressed the wrong button" at one point - strangely, I had just pressed the wrong button too - Did he put me off, or I him? Who can tell? UPDATE : This post was brought to you, literally, by the 3 Mobile, Mobile Broadband Device - Let's call it MiFi - Thanks to the guys at 3MobileBuzz, I can confirm that I would use it on a live deadline gig... One thing I will say, It seemed to start off rather slowly... The images not that large in this case, around 30 seconds upload time for each 600px wide image (72dpi) - This resolution isn't enough if you're shooting for anything worthwhile and you would need to spend a bit longer at your little Starbucks cafe table uploading if you were doing high res gear, but all in all the device performs very well.
